Interruptions of electricity supply for 25/08/2011 

Due to reduced electric power generation capacity which is a result of a fault on the Generation system, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus calls for the public to exercise maximum restraint in the electricity consumption as well as utilise standby generators wherever possible. In particular, the public is requested to minimize the use of air conditioning systems/units as well as electricity consumption in general. 

Efforts are being made to rectify the problem and restore the Generation system the soonest, however it might be necessary for emergency power cuts to be carried out between 11.00 and 16.00 in which case SMS messages will be sent accordingly.
