Renewed call for energy saving - 20/7/11
The EAC announces that coordinated efforts are being made with the Transmission System Operator (TSO) so that all premises affected by power cuts experience them only once every 24 hours for a duration of no longer than 2 hours and 30 minutes, with the aim of causing the least possible inconvenience to the public. Τhe EAC and the TSO will issue a timetable of these cuts in the coming days, circumstances permitting.
This will only be possible, however, if consumers respond to the EAC’s calls for a reduction in their electricity consumption. This needs to be clearly understood, since today the demand was 40 ΜW higher than expected. Consumers must also recognize that if this trend towards increased demand continues, the EAC will regrettably be forced to take additional measures which will result in more power cuts and a postponement of the timetable for such cuts.
For this reason, the EAC renews its call to everyone to respond to its requests for a reduction in their electricity consumption.
