Integrated management system

The Electricity Authority of Cyprus fully realizes its obligations and responsibilities towards the Cypriot customer and the Cyprus economy as a whole. The EAC has therefore established, documented, implemented and maintains an integrated management system and has established mechanisms through which there is continuous improvement of its effectiveness in accordance with the requirements of the International Standards CYS EN ISO 9001:2008 and CYS EN ISO 14001:2004.

Through this management system the Authority has established a Customer and business process oriented organization, aiming for minimizing operational cost, increasing productivity, reducing EAC’ s carbon footprint and improving Quality all within the context of sustainability.

RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY

In each documented system procedure the authority and responsibility of EAC’s personnel has been defined.

TRAINING OF PERSONNEL

Appropriate induction training is provided to all new employees and is described in the relevant system procedure.

Training requirements for staff vary according to their responsibilities and are met by both on the job training and external courses. Quality and environmental management are always treated as integral parts of training.

Procedures ensuring that all personnel are suitably instructed / trained in their area of operation are implemented in a manner conductive to the aims and objectives of the company.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION

The Authority has established a documented procedure outlining the different methods by which management and personnel communicate with each other as to the policies’ requirements as well as the objectives and targets.

Any external communication carried out is recorded and managed by the Registry.

DOCUMENTATION

The Authority has established an integrated management system that includes documented procedures and supporting documents that are accessible electrically by all EAC personnel.

CONTROL OF DOCUMENTS

There exists a system procedure regarding the creation, change and control of all documents. All documents are electronically accessible on EAC’s intranet portal.

Changes are only allowed by authorized personnel, as described in the procedure.

MONITORING AND MEASUREMENT

PROCESS MONITORING AND MEASURING

The Authority maintains a documented procedure for measuring and monitoring of its processes using defined measurement criteria and methods. There are defined responsibilities for personnel performing the monitoring and measurement of specific processes.

CONFORMING TO LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

The methodology for conforming to all relevant laws is described in the relevant procedure.

The following activities have been completed:

  • Applying for all necessary licenses regarding water use and usage/storing of oil based products.

  • Submission of all relevant documentation to Green Dot, WEEE and AFIS regarding recycling.

  • Cooperation with Telli Enterprices Ltd regarding the management of toners and ink cartridges.

NON-CONFORMANCES, CORRECTIVE AND PREVENTIVE ACTION

The methodology used is described in the relevant procedure. All corrective and preventive actions are decided by the process owners and the effectiveness evaluated during the Management reviews.

The methodology used for managing all records is described in the relevant procedure.

INTERNAL AUDITS

The methodology used for the planning and implementation of the internal audits is described in the relevant procedure.
