World Fuel Oil Summit XII, Cyprus, 16-18 May 2019

World Fuel Oil Summit XII, Cyprus, 16-18 May 2019 hosted by the Electricity Authority of Cyprus

POINT OF NO RETURN -- COUNTDOWN TO IMO 2020

Trends and opportunities in the world fuel oil market will be examined at World Fuel Oil Summit XII from Thursday, 16 May, to Saturday, 18 May 2019 in Limassol, Cyprus. The delegates, from Cyprus and abroad, will be welcomed by Nikos Nicolaides, the mayor of Limassol; Natasa Pilides, the shipping deputy minister to the president; Antonis Ioannou, a deputy director of ministry of energy; and Emily Yiolitis, the chairwoman of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus' board of directors.

At World Fuel Oil Summit XII, a group of international experts will address a variety of topics related to the complex workings of the world fuel oil and bunker markets, with special emphasis on IMO 2020. In January 2020, regulations of the International Maritime Organization concerning a dramatic lowering of the sulfur content of bunker fuel take effect. Among the areas receiving specific attention from the experts will be Brazil, Iran, North Africa, and Russia.

On the Thursday of the three-day summit, conference delegates will join a guided tour of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus' Vasilikos power station. The formal conference proceedings will be held on the Friday. On the Saturday, a professional tour guide will accompany delegates on a visit to historical and cultural sights of Cyprus.

This marks the second time that the Electricity Authority of Cyprus is hosting the World Fuel Oil Summit in Limassol. The first six meeting of this annual summit were held in Malta and the next four in Athens.

World Fuel Oil Summit XII is organized by New York-based Axelrod Energy Projects LLC (www.axelrodenergyprojects.com), a firm which focuses on commercial consulting, cargo brokerage, and project development.
