EAC Upgrades its Distribution Network in Limassol District

In the context of upgrading and strengthening its Medium Voltage Network, EAC wishes to inform the public that it will carry out construction work in the Limassol District in order to install new cables from the Yermasoyia 132/11kV substation.

The project will be conducted in cooperation with an EAC contractor and will include excavation and other related works for the laying of some 2,600 metres of distribution cables. Work will take place in the following streets: Andokidos, Ambelakion, Aktinou, Viotias, Iliados, Xenophontos, Avessalom, Pervolas and Aktaiou Sreet. It will be carried out in sections, in accordance with the timetable drawn up in cooperation with the Department of Public Works, the responsible Local Authorities and the Police.

Work will begin on Monday, 1 June 2020 and is due to be completed in August. The timetable for specific sections will be provided in writing to the premises that will be affected or information will be provided (wherever possible) to those directly affected.

These essential excavation works will unavoidably hinder easy access to premises and disrupt traffic flows. For this reason, EAC, in conjunction with all the involved services and local authorities, will make every effort to minimize any inconvenience and to enable the smoothest possible flow of traffic. The Electricity Authority's main concern is to safely complete the project as quickly as possible with the least impact on the public.

The Electricity Authority apologizes in advance for the unavoidable inconvenience that this essential project will cause and asks the public to show the necessary understanding and to comply with the requirements of the temporary road network and with Police instructions.
