Customers have recently reported to EAC that they have been visited by people who introduce themselves as EAC meter readers, in order to check their electricity consumption count.
These people, ask to be shown to the meter room and in some cases they proceed in power cuts of the premises. The Electricity Authority of Cyprus clarifies that it has no association with these people and invites its customers to be extra cautious.
EAC does carry out visits to its customer's premises to check their consumption meters, but following a request from its customers or rarely on its own and after notification from the EAC. Also, EAC employees who visit customer premises have their employee identification card with them at all times.
